Description
Charming handmade leather dog “Boxer” from DERU, Wiesbaden. Germany 1960s.
These little leather animals were folded and riveted by hand from just a thicker piece of brown leather. Stamped.
DERU Gemany.
Origami technique.
The DERU factory in Wiesbaden produced these iconic animals in the 1960s. Unfortunately, there is currently no further documentation about the company and the designers are also unknown.
Since each animal was lovingly made by hand, it is always unique with an individual expression.
The boxer on offer is very expressive and professionally crafted. Very good original condition from the 1960s with very slight signs of wear.
These small iconic animals have a high collector’s value today, comparable to the objects of Dimitri Omersa.
