Beautiful work on linen by Gust Verelst (1901-1978). Made in 1943. Signed. Vegetables, fruit, Lady Jeanne (bottle), earthen pot, etc. are artistically depicted with strong brushstrokes. Ideal for the kitchen. Gust Verelst was included in Piron’s important book ‘Belgian visual artists’. On page 2648 you get a nice overview of what the man meant (see photo). Beautifully framed behind glass. Dimensions: 124 x 101 x 5.5cm.
