Description
Delightful oil painting on cardboard depicting two sheep or lambs on a meadow, signed lower right in red “Saulle,” dated 1950-1960. Fitted with lacquered wooden frame, beige in color, coeval with the painting. Good patina, perfectly in keeping with our dating. Done in a vaguely post-impressionist style. The painting is attributable to Luigi Saulle, an Italian painter. We are definitely talking about a youthful work, before the painter approached the metaphysical current, classic works of Giorgio De Chirico. In the last photos, immediately below this description, we have put some of the artist’s works, with considerable estimates and results considering that we are talking about rather small paintings and a modern painter. We have also put the photo of the enlargement of the signature of one of the two paintings, where you can see the great similarity with the signature on our painting. The two paintings brought as examples deviate greatly from the style of our work, but still give a general idea of the value and importance of the works created by this painter.
