Description
Born in Vilassar de Dalt (Barcelona) in 1930. Son of goldsmith was trained in a self -taught way and began in the painting at the end of 50. He made his first individual exhibition in 1953 in the Vilassar D’Al room. He learned the perspective of Josep Fbregas and Ramn’s fort, and learned the technique of water. It was the Catalan painter John Agell who recommended his dedication to watercolor. . He also presented his work in La Pinacoteca, Tot Art (Andorra), Circle of Fine Arts (Palma de Mallorca), Gipr & Escoda Gallery (Barcelona) and the Rusiol de Sant Cugat gallery. He won numerous awards such as the Second National Watercolor Prize in Madrid in 1987, the International Cartoo-Guillot Prize in Barcelona and the Gold Medal of the Catalan Association of Watercolors. His work is present at the Museum of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, at the Templiers de Collioure Museum, at the Martnez Lozano Foundation (Llan)
And in the Municipal Pinacoteca “Legado Francesc Gal” (Palams). In 1993 the Rusiol gallery dedicated the “Amadeu Casals”, volume II of the “Rusiol Taxes” collection by Francesc Gal. In 1998 the book “Amadeu Casals. Watercas” was published. framed, 12cm. wide wooden frame, double passepartout and glass.
