19th Century Dutch crystal and gold perfume bottle by H.A.M. van Tongeren, 1870s A 19th Century Dutch perfume bottle with golden hinged cap with stopper. The crystal perfume bottle has an octagonal crystal cut flat body and is rounded to hextagonal base at the bottom. The hinged cap is made of 14 carat gold (585/000) and hallmarked with the Dutch gold hallmark “Oak leaf” and maker’s mark of Hermanus Adrianus Mattheus van Tongeren, Amsterdam. This master sign used from 1871-1878. The pattern on the golden cap is specific to the Biedermeijer era. The bottle has signs of use. Has a small dent. The scent of the famous French fragrance is slightly present in the bottle. The measurement is 9.5 cm high, 3 cm wide and the depth is 2.3 cm.
