Description
Item :
Very rare sculpture made and modeled entirely by hand in paper mache, depicting a soldier in uniform, specifically an ancient Dutch imperial guard in summer uniform from 1812, with tassels and cords on the hat made of string and with a wooden sword, subsequently entirely hand-painted brush-tipped hand, with indications under the base not easily readable, apart from Holland 1812. Beautiful carved wooden base finished in gold leaf.
Final thoughts on the object:
The artistic quality is very high, the sculpture is entirely hand-modelled by the artist, therefore a unique piece, notice the beauty of the face or the uniform with embossed buttons, the wooden sword or the wonderful tassels in real string, like the cords on the hat , the shades on the face from the red cheeks to the slightly scruffy beard, mustache and sideburns, the sash carrying the sword, the two ends of the blouse at the back, an incredible attention to detail, a rare and very high quality.
