About Separation is an original artwork realized in the early XX century by the artist Daniel de Losques. Original mixed colored lithograph. Original title printed on plate on lower left: A propos de la sparation, le nouveau clerg de l’tat This artwork represents some churchmen talking to a cardinal. Henri-Daniel-Casimir-Paul Thouroude also better known as Daniel de Losques (1880-1915) is a French draftsman and affichiste. He first studied law in Caen before enrolling at the Acadmie Julian. He made his debut at Le Figaro, then worked for L’Aurore, Fantasio Excelsior, Le Matin, Le Rire, Le Monde illustr, Paris illustr and Le Thtre on theater-related topics. In 1910, he founded the Losques studio, a printing house producing mainly posters.Serving as a bomber during the First World War, his plane, a V-110 Squadron Neighbors, was shot down on 9 August 1915 by a German Aviatik, causing his death as well as that of the pilot, Second Lieutenant Lemoine.
