Description
Adolescence is a beautiful drypoint realized by the French painter, illustrator, and writer Amandine Dor in the second half of the 20th century. The state of preservation is excellent and the image, sensual and pleasant, describes a young nude woman kneeling in a meadow, surrounded by flowers and butterflies. This is an artists proof. On the higher left, there are some indications written in pencil for the print: 157 imprimes / 27 imprimes / + 2 sans numer. On the higher right, still in pencil, Modle 75 preuves is written. Amandine Dor (Paris, 1912-2011) is one of the pseudonyms of Odette Amandine Bonne, who signed also as Aura or Madame, according to the type of subject matter of her artworks. Amandine was a French painter, illustrator, and writer. Her production varied from erotic to travel illustrations. With her fascinating drawings, she illustrated the classics of erotic literature, books of poetry, magazines, and most of her husbands books (the Belgian author TSerstevens, with whom she often travelled). This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the works market price.
