Description
An aluminium and brass table clock by David Marshall (circa 1990s). The piece is very weighty and wonderfully tactile with the maker’s mark impressed on the front brass base (which is like a chunky gold bar) supporting the clock. The clock’s original time-keeping mechanism is fully functional with just a battery required to get it moving again (which cannot be included in shipments). Like all of his brutalist works, David Marshall’s pieces are elegantly rugged, beautifully trodden and often, irregularly formed. This particular clock has a small nameplate attached to the front citing a Spanish club of some sort with a name and date (1983-1997). It can be easily removed but we’ve chosen to retain it as a quirky reminder of its origins. The clock has such presence: raw, brutal and collectible. It is in good overall condition with characterful marks and an aged patina consistent with its age. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
