Description
Both simple and ingenious, we like the ”Bow Wood” seats published by Steiner in the 1950s. The base is made of a single piece of curved solid wood. A brass ring, the only point of attachment, joins the base and backrest, ensuring flexibility and great seating comfort. Here, Steiner appropriates the techniques of bending wood to produce pieces with a bold and resolutely modern design. This furniture, a mid-century invention, responds to the production requirements of the time, which demanded industrialized but human techniques. This model of bridge chair is not common, it has wide armrests ”spatulas”, highlighting the grain of the wood.
The structure of the chair is in solid curved wood. The color is soft. The seat is soft, covered with a forest green skai. Traces of use are visible on this original upholstery and on the top of the arms.
45cm wide (61cm max width) and 46cm deep, 45cm seat height and 82 cm total height.
