A beautiful abstract ceramic bird by Brge Jrgensen ‘no 3800’. Ceramic cock figurine with a glaze by Sven A. Jensen. Manufactured by Sholm Ceramics, Bornholm, Denmark. This is a rare find.
Jorgensen was a Danish Postwar & Contemporary sculptor who was born in 1926. He became more known later for his brutalist metal abstract sculptures. It is 17 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm (6.69’x3.34’x1.75′) and and in an excellent condition.
Sholm Keramik (Ceramics), Denmark was founded by Edvard Christian Sonne and Herman Sonne Wolffsen in 1835. It has been one of Denmarks leading manufacturers of modern ceramics both of household goods and art pottery.
