Description
Esteve Serrat Paxinc painting. Made in Spain, circa 1979. Hand signed by the author In good original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. About the artist: His beginnings were self-taught, and he was interested in all the avant-garde trends and in the study of their creators, especially Picasso. He adopted formal structures similar to Cubism, often with a chromaticism close to Fauvism, and a large brushstroke with a lot of matter. In 1953, at the age of twenty-six, he began artistic studies at the Olot School of Fine Arts until 1958, when he furthered his studies at the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid. This is the period in which he produced a series of works of a markedly academicist character. He obtained a scholarship to study in Paris. In the following years his plastic production is an amalgam of styles and tendencies, difficult to classify. He had many exhibitions in national galleries and in various European cities.
