Description
Set of 2 Lumiere of Saint Anthony in Caltagirone ceramic, 1940s.
Intact and in good condition, small signs of aging.
Found in a noble villa. The bowls contained wicks soaked in oil which were lit to illuminate.
In the ancient tradition of Caltagirone, they were used to decorate the steps of the famous town during the celebrations for the patron saint San Giacomo.
