*Heuser, Heinrich (1887 Stralsund – 1967 Berlin, studied at the KA Munich, master student of F. Mackensen in Weimar, painter and graphic artist active in Berlin)
In 1917, the Berlin gallery owner and art dealer Paul Cassirer traded his works and he became a founding member of the Darmstadt Secession in 1919. The National Socialist regime declared his works “degenerate”, removed them from museums and banned him from practicing his profession. After the war, Heuser joined the Munich Secession and in 1951 became chairman of the newly founded artists’ association “Der Ring” in Berlin. His works were presented at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition, among others.
In 1937 he was vilified by the National Socialists as “degenerate”
