Description
A beautiful decorative piece perfect for a glass display case or shelf where the light can shine through it. This Vintage Ashtrays was made in Italy between the 1960s and the 1970s by Venetian artisans using the “Sommerso” glass technique. The Sommerso (Italian for “submerged”) is the Murano glassmaking technique of creating two or more layers of contrasting glass without the colours mixing together. It is formed by dipping coloured glass into molten glass of a different colour, before blowing the glass into the required form. This item has been cut and polished with a beautiful dark grey inner design encased in clear glass. It can be used as a pure decorative element or as an ashtray, the important thing is that it is placed near light sources that accentuate its splendid coloring and workmanship.
