Description
A very charming modernist style mid-century street scene composition, executed in oil onto board. The painting presents a lively neighbourhood lined with a stretch of houses of different sizes and colours, and some greenery at the opposite side of the street. The combination of rich and uplifting colours as well as confidently executed expressive brushstrokes invigorates the painting with a very positive energy. This oil on board is housed in an ornate frame that adds character to the piece. The painting has 3 tiny pinholes on the board, but this is only visible upon close inspection and does not detract from the overall piece. There is some craquelure present but the paint layer is very stable. The inner cream border on the frame has some marks.
