Description
In 1918, Jean Mrillon bought pottery in Caudran on the outskirts of Bordeaux. In 1919, he founded the C.A.B. “Bordeaux art ceramics”. CAB will have an avant-garde production, tinged with Art Nouveau and Art Deco, and will participate in the great Primavera adventure by producing pieces for the mains of spring stores. The adventure will continue at the turn of the century with daring pieces, free shapes and bright colors. This cutting, in the confined shape, is a typically Midcentury production. Its original shape is highlighted by the work of the enamel, deep black for exterior and shiny green for the interior.
The cup is made of black and green ceramic, it can be used in a storage, ashtray, bandier or centerpiece. It is signed CAB to the stylus for “Bordeaux art ceramic”, on the back.
15cm in diameter, 5cm high.
