Visit Of The Shepherds is an original oil on canvas realized by Carlo Socrate in 1936. Published exhibition catalogue of Palazzo Venezia Preparatory sketch for the decoration of the chapel of the mother house of the Mutilated. Carlo Socrate (Mezzanabigli, 1889 – Rome, 1967) was an Italian painter. He spent his early childhood in Argentina where his parents had moved to practice the profession of theater actors. In 1898 he returned to Italy. He studied painting in Florence to move to Rome in 1914 when he completed his studies. At the beginning he devoted himself to the scenography for the theater and made acquaintance with the painters who worked in Rome at that time. Among them he met Picasso who decided to follow in Paris to complete and enrich his artistic background. After going to Spain, he returned to Rome where he remained for the rest of his life. In 1931 he exhibited at the 1st National Art Quadrennial in Rome. This artwork is shipped from Italy.
