The Voltaire armchair is the bourgeois seat par excellence of the reign of Louis-Philippe. Its shape is inspired by the patient’s armchair used by Voltaire before his death in 1778. This great furniture classic has been produced in large series from the 1830s until today. It owes its astonishing longevity and its permanent popular success to its great comfort, its almost timeless lines and its simplicity of design.
The top of the file forms a beautiful rounded circle rounded. Which is the case on the oldest seats.
